Year 2 of Parley League is rolling! We will be finishing up basketball and soon be into spring. We will be offering "Sports-Centers". Our Coburn athletes will move through their choice of soccer, flag football, wiffle ball, kickball and basketball!

Today our students at Parley Coburn experienced something truly unforgettable!
Award-winning PUSH Physical Theatre visited our school, bringing their signature blend of intense athleticism, gravity-defying acrobatics, and soulful artistry to the stage. Students were amazed as performers told powerful stories using only movement, strength, and creativity.
The experience didn’t end with the performance. Our 4th graders had the opportunity to step into the world of physical theatre themselves during hands-on workshops with the artists. They explored movement, teamwork, and storytelling in a completely new way.
Moments like this show students that art can be powerful, expressive, and active all at once. Huge thanks to GST BOCES and PUSH for bringing this incredible experience to our school! #GoExpress

Today we celebrated Social-Emotional Learning with activities focused on kindness, teamwork, and understanding our emotions.
With a little help from Dr. Seuss, we’re reminding students that reading builds both strong minds and strong hearts. ❤️📖
When students feel safe, supported, and connected — they thrive! 🌟

Mr. Brackley is engaging our Coburn Cougars with some climbing practice. He took some time to install some climbing walls here at Coburn! The kids love it! #Expressready

Congratulations to our Terrific Kids in third grade for the month of February!

The Elmira City School District open on a 2-hour delay today, Monday, February 23, 2026. ❄️ Travel safe! #GoExpress

❤️🌍 Our 5th graders at Coburn Elementarylearned that love truly does travel the world! Inspired by the idea that “love can spread across the world,” teachers asked for Valentines to be sent from everywhere — and the response was amazing! 💌
We’ve heard from 23 US states and 9 countries and expect a letter this week from the Olympics!
Students received mail from family, travelers, classrooms, and friends all over the globe — from the UK 🇬🇧 and Ireland 🇮🇪 to Australia 🇦🇺, New Zealand 🇳🇿, Italy 🇮🇹 and even as far away as South Korea 🇰🇵!
📍 Every Valentine was pinned on a hallway world map, bringing geography, cultures, and global connection to life. Along the way, students also practiced internet safety and learned about the places the cards came from.
Thank you to everyone near and far who helped spread the love! 💕🌎 #GoExpress

The Parley Pause program was introduced this year at Coburn to allow students from all backgrounds an outlet to create a pathway to start their day the right way. We check in, journal about our Coburn Community Attribute of the Month and work on restorative practices. We celebrate our success together!

A huge shout out to LECOM for allowing Parley League to take over this winter! Parley League welcomed the All-Stars from our Flag Football Teams! It was a great night and thank you to all the staff and families who came out to support our league!

Mrs. Richer’s 5th grade students at Coburn are making real-world connections to current events through the Winter Olympic Games! ❄️🏅
By blending reading, discussion, and a creative art activity, students are exploring global traditions, athletic achievement, and the spirit of the Olympics in an engaging, hands-on way.
Learning comes alive when classroom lessons connect to the world around us! #GoExpress
